How Has the Lake Tahoe Area Market Changed Since 2005?
Below are some real estate sales stats for the Tahoe/Truckee area for the years 2005-2010. The information was taken from the Tahoe Sierra Multiple Listing Service.
The first graph displays properties that sold for over $1 million during the years 2005-2010. The areas included are Squaw Valley, Lakefronts, Truckee and the North Shore & West Shore of Lake Tahoe.
The second graph shows the median price of home sales for the same areas and for the same years.

Where Were the Sales in the North Lake Tahoe Area?
Below are some real estate sales stats for the Tahoe/Truckee area for the dates January 1-December 1, 2010. The information was taken from the Tahoe Sierra Multiple Listing Service.
The first graph shows the number of homes sold in 2009 compared to 2010. The areas that had an increase in home sales were: Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, Tahoe Donner, Truckee, Lahontan and Tahoe lakefronts.
The second graph shows the average home sale prices in 2009 compared to 2010. Northstar & Lakefronts increased in price/square footage where the rest of the area prices decreased. This shows it’s a great time to buy!
The last graph shows where the sales took place. Truckee and Tahoe Donner had the most sales activity for 2010.
