Truckee’s Timeshares & New Homes
October 22, 2008
Jenny Goldsmith recently wrote an article entitled “Truckee Market Buoyed by Timeshares, New Homes” in the local paper, the Sierra Sun. The article explains what is going on with the real estate market in Truckee compared to other housing markets. Goldsmith says that the high end market in Truckee “has remained surprisingly buoyant throughout a national real estate downturn that has hurt housing markets as close as North Tahoe.” She also states that sales on multi-million dollar homes were up 56% from this time last year in Truckee, but homes in the Tahoe City market fell 33%. John Falk of the Tahoe Sierra Board of Realtors remarks that this is because homes in Truckee were undervalued to begin with.
